Make a fragile monthly job repeatable

  • Oracle files looked like .xls but were really XML.
  • Some were too large for normal conversion.
  • Each worksheet needed a different merge rule.

A streaming converter

  • Reads the XML as a stream, not all at once.
  • Handles old encodings and Excel's size limits.
  • Writes a real .xlsx workbook.
